Program Approach

Men who have Sex with Men Model
"LaSky - Trusting each other" is a socially-based model with the main purpose of helping to reduce the incidence of new HIV and other sexually-transmitted infections among gay populations and men who have sex with men (MSM). An emphasis is placed on community building and creating an environment where the social norm is to adopt safer sexual behaviors. One of the main operating principles of LaSky is openness. LaSky project staff actively collaborates with non-profit organizations, private sector, and government institutions that are interested in working against the spread of HIV. Originally developed and implemented in over ten regions in Russia as a best practice model, the model was adapted for CAR under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project. Under the project, MSM receive a comprehensive Targeted Outreach Package of Services (TOPS).
