The USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project is implemented by a consortium of partners led by Population Services International (PSI) and including Project HOPE, AIDS Foundation East-West (AFEW) and the Kazakhstan Union of People Living with HIV/AIDS.
Analyzing existing interventions and drawing upon the partners’ many years of experience working with most-at-risk populations (MARPs) in each of the Central Asian Republics, the project combines best practices and effective approaches to strengthen the region’s strategic response to HIV and TB.
The USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project provides subawards to 28 local NGOs working in the field of HIV and TB prevention across the region. Local NGOs directly implement outreach to program MARPs and are selected through a competitive, publically announced tender process.
The USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project consortium partners have established close working relationships with health and government structures at all levels in each country, including: Ministries of Health, Republican- and Oblast-level AIDS Centers, Narcology Centers, TB Centers, National Healthy Lifestyle Centers, Ministries of Justice, and local NGOs. These relationships with the governments and other implementing partners in the region enhance coordination and avoid duplication of prevention activities among MARPS.
