Adali was established in 2005 in Almaty. Having unique access to men who have sex with men, the NGO works on HIV prevention with this at-risk group through innovative education technology along with advocating their rights in the society. The NGO implements its projects in close collaboration with the City AIDS Center. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Adali provides outreach to men who have sex with men in Almaty.
Ar-Namys was founded in 2008 in Almaty. The organization provides informational-educational and social services focused on HIV and TB prevention for injecting drug users. In the past, Ar-Namys also worked on harm reduction and HIV and STI prevention among injecting drug users and sex workers. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Ar-Namys provides outreach to injecting drug users in Almaty.
Kredo was founded in 1999 in Karaganda. The NGO provides HIV prevention and drug demand reduction services for injecting drug users and prisoners who have HIV along with advocating for their rights. The NGO works in collaboration with the penitentiary system in Karaganda Oblast to implement its projects. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Kredo provides outreach to prisoners in Karaganda.
Kuat was founded in 2008 in Ust-Kamenogorsk. The NGO works on HIV prevention among at-risk groups and advocates the rights of its target groups. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Kuat provides outreach to injecting drug users and people living with HIV in East Kazakhstan Oblast.
Mental Health was founded in 2006 in Almaty. Focusing on developing support for people living with HIV and their family and friends, the NGO specializes in training specialists who provide psychological support for people living with HIV and their family and friends. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Mental Health provides outreach to people living with HIV in Almaty.
Sau Urpak was founded in 2000 in Karaganda. The NGO provides HIV prevention services and actively assists in conducting Sentinel Surveillance studies among injecting drug users and sex workers in Karaganda. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Sau Urpark provides outreach to sex workers in Karaganda.
Shapagat was founded in 1998 by the City AIDS Center as an initiative of a group of people living with HIV in Temirtau. Since 2001, the group has been working as an independent organization – providing access to medical and social services for people living with HIV and other most-at-risk populations. The NGO additionally conducts activities related to HIV and STI prevention and drug demand reduction for youth. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Shapagat provides outreach to people living with HIV in Temirtau.
The Taldykorgan Regional Foundation for Employment Assistance was founded in 2006 in Taldykorgan. The NGO operates a crisis center called Hope for women who are most-at-risk of contracting HIV. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, the Taldykorgan Regional Foundation for Employment Assistance provides outreach to prisoners in Almaty.
Umit was founded in 2004. Its target groups are people living with HIV and injecting drug users, among other vulnerable populations. Working towards the social integration of people living with HIV, the NGO provides legal support and conducts advocacy work for the group through its wide partner network throughout the country. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Umit provides outreach to injecting drug users in Karaganda.
Umit (different from the NGO of the same name above) was founded in 2004 in Shymkent by the South Kazakhstan Oblast administration. The NGO works with people living with HIV, injecting drug users and their co-dependents. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Umit provides outreach to prisoners in the South Kazakhstan Oblast.
Antistigma was founded in 2004 to work on HIV prevention among people living with HIV and injecting drug users. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Antistigma provides outreach to people living with HIV in Chui Oblast.
The Harm Reduction Network was founded in 2004. The mission of the organization is to counteract drug abuse through introducing and scaling-up effective drug use prevention methods, supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration of drug users, and promoting societal tolerance towards at-risk groups. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, the Harm Reduction Network provides outreach to prisoners in Chui Oblast and Djalalabad.
Plus Center was founded in 2008 for injecting drug users and people living with HIV. The organization uses the peer-to-peer approach to provide informational-educational services to its target groups. Plus Center recently joined the “Union of People Living with HIV” in order to increase its contribution to HIV prevention efforts in Osh Oblast. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Plus Center provides outreach to injecting drug users in Osh Oblast.
Podruga (Friend) was established in 2001. The mission of the organization is to raise awareness on HIV/AIDS and STIs among sex workers, ensure them access to medical services, provide consultation services and legal support, and attract the attention of state and civil structures to the problems of sex workers. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Podruga provides outreach to sex workers in Osh Oblast.
Pravo na Jizn (The Right to Live) was establishedin 2005. The organization has entered into consortium with RANS Plus to strengthen efforts related to the prevention of HIV and drug addiction among injecting drug users in Chui Oblast. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Pravo na Jizn provides outreach to injecting drug users in Chui Oblast.
RANS Plus was established in 2005. The mission of the organization is to improve the quality of life of people whose behaviors put them at high risk of contracting HIV through rehabilitation and social inclusion services. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, RANS Plus provides outreach to prisoners in Chui Oblast.
Sotsium was founded in 2008 to provide assistance and support to populations most-at-risk of contracting HIV. The organization conducts outreach to at-risk groups, along with providing escorts to services, working with friendly clinics and pharmacies to increase access to services, and offering self-help groups and reintegration programs for injecting drug users. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Sotsium provides outreach to injecting drug users in Bishkek.
Tais Plus 2 has significant experience providing services related to HIV and STI prevention for sex workers. During its eight years of operation, Tais Plus 2 has established close relations with governmental and non-governmental structures working with most-at-risk populations. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Tais Plus 2 provides outreach to sex workers in Djalalabad.
Parents Against Drugs was established in June 2000 to promote HIV and drug abuse prevention, providing motivational interviewing to people who inject drugs and people living with HIV. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Parents Against Drugs provides outreach to people living with HIV in Osh oblast.
Anis, founded in 1999, began working on HIV-prevention in 2008 and has established two trust points in Kulob for providing consultation services for injecting drug users. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Anis provides outreach to sex workers in Kulob.
AntiSPID (AntiAIDS) was founded in 2003 in Khujand. Its activities are focused on improving access for most-at-risk populations to medical, social and legal services. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, AntiSPID provides outreach to sex workers in Khujand.
DINA was established in 2000 in Khujand. Its activities are directed at ensuring access for most-at-risk populations to medical, social and legal services. In 2001, the organization created a youth center focused on prevention and rehabilitation called DINA. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Dina provides outreach to injecting drug users in Khujand.
Fidokor– one of the first NGOs in Tajikistan – was established in 1997 in Qurghonteppa. The NGO uses its well-established partner network that stretches across the country to address the needs of its target group: injecting drug users and sex workers. Having collaborated with a wide pool of donors, Fidokor possesses one of the largest portfolios among the local NGOs. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Fidokor provides outreach to injecting drug users and sex workers in Qurghonteppa.
Khaeti Nav was established in2008 in Khujand. Its initial activities were connected with the Center of Social Reintegration for former prisoners funded by AFEW. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Khaeti Nav provides outreach to prisoners in Khujand.
Legal Support was founded in 2003. The organization provides HIV-prevention services for men who have sex with men and sex workers according to the peer-to-peer principle. Legal Support is a member of the National Coordination Committee Technical Working Group and consistently contributes to the development of UNGASS (United Nations General Assembly) reports. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Legal Support provides outreach to men who have sex with men in Dushanbe.
Marvorid was established in 2004. Using the peer-to-peer principle, the organization provides HIV prevention related consultation services and low-threshold services for injecting drug users who are former prisoners, sex workers, and men who have sex with men. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Marvorid provides outreach to sex workers in Dushanbe and Vahdat.
RAN was founded in 2000. Its target groups are injecting drug users, people living with HIV, and sex workers. The NGO runs one drop-in center and four trust points based in the Republican TB Center and Republican Healthy Lifestyle Center. RAN has strong relations with local governmental, local non-governmental, and international organizations. The director of the organization is the head of the National Coordination Committee Technical Working Group. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, RAN provides outreach to injecting drug users in Dushanbe and Vahdat.
Sino was established in 2004 in Khatlon Oblast. The organization works on disease prevention and drug demand reduction among youth, along with mobilizing the society on public health issues. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Sino provides outreach to prisoners in Qurghonteppa.
SPIN Plus was founded in 2007. The organization works on increasing access to HIV-prevention services for injecting drug users and people living with HIV through advocating their rights and interests. Services are also provided through trust points, rehabilitation centers, and social readaptation centers. SPIN Plus is a member of the Regional Association of People Living with HIV. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, SPIN Plus provides outreach to injecting drug users in Dushanbe and people living with HIV in Dushanbe and Vahdat.
Vita was established in 2008 in Dushanbe. Its first activities were under the project Bovari – providing case management services to sex workers and injecting drug users in Dushanbe. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, Vita provides outreach to prisoners in Dushanbe.
The Turkmenistan Red Crescent National Society is a member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies – the world's largest humanitarian organization. Established in 1926, the Turkmenistan Red Crescent has been implementing a wide-range of humanitarian activities within the country. Specific to health, the organization has worked on HIV and TB prevention, drug demand reduction, and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. Under the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, the Turkmenistan Red Crescent National Society provides outreach to injecting drug users in Ashgabat and Dashoguz.
