USAID DIALOGUE ON HIV AND TB PROJECT
Management Information System

Management Information System (MIS) is a core monitoring and evaluation tool used to track performance indicators on a monthly basis. Under the project, a single, unified database was designed on Microsoft Access to incorporate all countries, all program partners and all targeted populations.

The MIS uses Unique Identifier Codes (UIC) to provide an anonymous way to monitor information on coverage, frequency of contact, and uptake of referred services and to monitor progress towards program objectives. The UIC is comprised of the first two letters of the mother`s name, the first two letters of the father’s name, the client’s gender, and the client’s year of birth. This information is unchanging, not easily associated with the client, and is comprised of only a small amount of data to keep reporting simple.
